Our ignite format has been wildly successful, and we certainly won’t be eliminating it in the near future. However, in an effort to streamline this aspect of our monthly gatherings, we are implementing a few small but significant changes.
- In keeping with the traditional ignite format, all Ignites presentation decks will continue to be 20 slides (including the title slide), but will be reduced to 15 seconds per slide. The total speaking time will be 5 minutes flat.
- Sales pitches and stories about your clients will not be allowed. We’ve had this problem in the past, and we’ve received negative feedback from event attendees about their displeasure about “being pitched.” The purpose of the Ignite format is to provide visibility for your work, not for your clients.
- All presentation decks are to be delivered at 5pm EST, 1 week prior to the event. We’ve encountered situations where we have not received presentations until mere minutes before the event, which doesn’t leave us with enough time to test the presentations for fidelity.
- Any presentations not received by this deadline will not be accepted, and the previously committed speaker will be removed from the evening’s agenda.
- Presentation decks should be submitted in the Powerpoint or Keynote format. If you are using non-standard fonts, those are to be included as well.
- Please archive your presentation deck, and name the file using the following naming convention: Speaker Name – Name of your Presentation.zip
