Wired Wednesday - Meetup for Toronto Entrepreneurs

This past Wednesday, we had the opportunity to attend Wired Wednesdays, a monthly meetup for entrepreneurs. This meetup was organized by the fine folks at Red Wire, a social network for entrepreneurs whose HQ is based in Toronto. The purpose of their social network is to “facilitate networking between entrepreneurs and members of the global business community” and “provide users with a platform for collaboration and knowledge sharing.” It’s an interesting and relevant concept in that you can promote your business in a relaxed atmosphere surrounded by others who share a passion for entrepreneurship. State of the Twitter-sphere

The Twitter-sphere is quite literally exploding. Since it’s launch in July of 2006, the user community has grown to an estimated 3.5-4.5 million users. It has been used to provide citizen journalism during the Mumbai attacks, the recent presidential election in the US, as well as more localized events such as MacWorld and CES.
