Announcing the StayFresh Podcast

We are happy to announce the launch the 2nd phase of our programming model: the StayFresh Podcast. Our pilot episode (now available) is a brief introduction to Refresh Events, StayFresh and what we’re all about. You can subscribe to the podcast RSS feed at http://feeds2.feedburner.com/re-podcasts.

UPDATE: The StayFresh Podcast is now available on the iTunes store at http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=308279370.

Each gathering will be recorded live and will be made available online and released under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 2.5 Canada License. We will also be using the audio recordings as part of our slidecasts.

This is a new medium for us, and we are very excited about what is has in store for us. We welcome your feedback (the good and the bad!); drop us a note and let us know what’s on your mind!

Stay Fresh - WordPress Conditional Tags

If you are like us, you probably want to exert a fair amount of control over your website; after all, it is an important part of your personal (or corporate) brand and deserves an equally fair amount of care and attention.

With that in mind, we searched for a solution to our problem: We wanted better control over our title and meta tags for SEO purposes. We were hesitant to use a plugin, because we felt that could be a more efficient way of handling such a small but important change. We quickly discovered that WordPress has a series of functions called Conditional Tags.

State of the Twitter-sphere

The Twitter-sphere is quite literally exploding. Since it’s launch in July of 2006, the user community has grown to an estimated 3.5-4.5 million users. It has been used to provide citizen journalism during the Mumbai attacks, the recent presidential election in the US, as well as more localized events such as MacWorld and CES.

Stay Fresh - The jQuery Edition

Welcome to our first edition of Stay Fresh. Every day we will be posting content about a design or development topic. Sometimes, it will be about social media, creative strategy, or a product review. Either way, count on us to deliver something new and interesting everyday.

With that said, our first edition of Stay Fresh will cover jQuery. The latest version of this popular JavaScript framework is 1.3, which was just released on January 14th 2009. (Incidentally, the new version was released 3 years to the day of the first version of jQuery). The new version of jQuery has many new improvements, which we will cover today.
