Dré Labre
The Game of Opposites
What happens when subculture becomes pop culture? What small thing is going to become the next big thing? In this presentation, I will discuss a creative technique often used – usually subconsciously, and seldom discussed – to set and predict trends.
This event is now sold out! Thank you to everyone that registered!
About Dré Labre
You could say that Dré Labre is a CD with infinite directions: when he’s not creative directing a team, he’s exploring his own photography. When he’s not engaging audiences at speaking events, he’s engaged in foot stomping medleys with his band, The Darned. When he’s not geeking out over latest technologies, he’s happily lo-fi with a pen and paper. And that’s just the landing page.During his tenure at such agencies as MacLaren McCann and Blast Radius, Labre built a reputation for understanding exactly how the web could captivate and inspire. His unquestionable creativity and passion for the medium shot him to the head of the class, earning him the title of Creative Director of Tribal DDB Toronto in August 2006.
Today, he has built a reputation for showing clients exactly why the idea must lead the technology. And it’s working. If awards are the creative currency of the industry, then Labre’s pockets are jangling happily. His work has turned heads at the DMAs, the CMAs, London International, New York Festivals & the Webbys to name a few.
His strategy and artistry have earned him recognition of a senior judging position at this year’s CMAs, and historically at such lauded awards shows as the Digital Marketing Awards and the Webbys. He also routinely does speaking engagements, and impromptu ukelele sessions.
