    Dan Drew, senior architect at Brightspark (www.brightspark.com) will show you how to create an iPhone application, show you some tips and tricks, and answer any questions you may have. Topics will include:

    • Creating an iPhone project and actually getting it to work
    • Introduction to Objective C and the Cocoa framework
    • The iPhone User Interface Explained
    • Understanding Interface Builder

    Who this workshop is for

    This workshop is for anyone who is interested in learning how to develop and monetize iPhone applications. You must be familiar with the basics of programming, however you are not required to have built iPhone applications prior to this workshop.

    Requirements

    You must have an Apple computer running the latest Mac OSX (Leopard Mac OS X 10.5.5 or higher) with the iPhone 3.0 SDK installed on it. If you do not have the SDK, please go to http://developer.apple.com/iphone/ and register for free to download the SDK. Please note that the SDK is a rather large download, so please install it before the beginning of the workshop to save yourself time.

He has been a lowly grunt, senior grunt, architect, and development manager on projects ranging from consumer software and small web sites to enterprise software and web sites serving millions of users a day at top companies such as Symantec, Microsoft and MySpace. Dan is currently a senior architect at Toronto-based Brightspark (www.brightspark.com).
