StayFresh12 Content Roundup

Thursday, September 24th, 2009 | By: Justin Kozuch

We’d like to thank our amazing speakers Tim Scollick, Ben Vinegar, Joshua Wehner, and Colin Bowern, as well as all our attendees for coming out on a rainy Monday evening. For the second consecutive month, over 50 of attendees were new faces, which makes us very happy. We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events!

We’ve posted the presentation decks online, including the audio for Colin’s presentation. Unfortunately, GarageBand had crashed during the first half of our gathering, so all the audio for the other presentations was lost.

Episode 6 of the StayFresh podcast will be available shortly. Stay tuned!

Call for Speakers: September Gathering

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009 | By: Justin Kozuch

We are currently looking for 5-6 Ignite speakers for our September gathering. The theme for our September event is “Code”. The types of speakers we’re looking for are:

  • Front-End Designers (those who work with XHTML, CSS, & JavaScript)
  • Developers & Programmers (Ruby on Rails, .NET, and the like)
  • Rich Media Developers (Flash, Flex, & AIR)

What’s Ignite?

Ignite is a presentation format derived from the Japanese presentation format commonly known as “Pecha Kucha“. Each speaker is given 5 minutes to speak on a subject accompanied by 20 slides. Each slide is displayed for 15 seconds, and slides are automatically advanced. More details about the Ignite format are available here.

How do I apply to speak?

Easy! Simply fill out this form with your details and we’ll get back to you once we’ve approved your presentation.

First of all, we’d like to thank each and every one of you for coming out to last Monday’s gathering; over 50% of attendees were new faces. We’re quite happy about that, and we hope this trend continues in the future.

A quick heads up to let you know we’ve uploaded all of Monday’s presentation decks to our SlideSpace; the audio for the slidecasts and the podcast will be available later today.

EDIT: Slidecasts are synched up with the audio. Check out our SlideSpace and listen in!
