Startup Drinks Toronto (#startupdrinksca), Wednesday, November 25, 2009 from 5:30pm – 9:30pm. Announcing the arrival of Startup Drinks 5! We’re continuing to keep the spirit of the startup community alive, one pint at a time on Wednesday, November 25th. It’s a simple concept: a grassroots effort to make sure startup folks get in touch and stay in touch. All it took was for Raymond Luk of Flow Ventures (a moving force behind Montreal Startup Drinks) to recruit Toronto all-round-instigator David Crow who was on board immediately. Now, with Bryan Watson of the National Angel Capital Organization and CEO Fusion stepping up to help out, we are looking forward to an even better Startup Drinks Toronto 5! Free event.
Personal Branding 101, Wednesday, November 25, 2009 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm. “Personal Branding” – the self-packaging process whereby people market themselves and/or their careers as brands. It’s why people want to “hire you, work with you, have lunch with you, and generally associate with you.” Your personal brand is the unique value you bring to the table. It prevents you from being outsourced, ignored, or easily replaced. How can someone make oneself and her organization uniquely distinguishable, memorable, and indispensible – particuarly in the context of business and technology? How could one best manage their online identity/reputation (e.g., Facebook, blogs, personal websites)? Free event.
